5 years later I am back on Tumblr…now how do I delete everything lmao
Once every year update: I quit my immigration advocacy job of 2 years because my boss sucked, applied to like 20 other jobs during the pandemic, got really close on a couple of them, but ultimately got the one job that I didn’t even send in a formal cover letter for. My first government gig!!!
Things I’ve learned this past year:
- connections, experience, and values go much further than any amount of formal education
- your work is not your whole life and you don’t owe your work anything
- quitting a toxic job is self care
- we’re in a pandemic. We deserve rest
I have always worked remotely but social distancing has forced me to make my office look nice so that I can actually sit in it all day to do work.
Getting into the habit of not making art to be perfect. I can make art to be sweet and tender.
